Rwanda Rwumba Hill Anaerobic Natural

From the western province of Rwanda, Nyamasheke, this coffee carries so much purple funky fruits! Tart blackcurrants on the forefront, gentle sweetness of sugary figs to follow. Along with this, the 24-72 hours of anaerobic process adds a dimension of funk in the background, whilst accentuating the bursting aroma of lavender. An organization called the Tropic Coffee Company plays an integral role in elevating the quality of this crop. Their focus is on bee pollination, which can increase harvest yields by up to 50%. These beautiful red bourbon trees were pollinated by bees in the highlands at 2200MASL, while the processing station in Cyato sits at 1930MASL. This allows for slow maturity and drying of the crops. This company is also responsible for employing a lot of women in their production line in the effort to boost gender equality in the cultural mindset. More than half of what we taste has been cultivated and harvested by women.
